Motivated by a deep desire to honor Arthuro Gaëtan’s legacy, I returned to Chiquimulilla (Guatemala) in 2017 with my friend and film maker Florent de la Tullaye, to search for the individuals who had once stood before Arthuro’s lens. Reconnecting with Arthuro’s family and some of the photographed subjects brought the village’s memory vividly back to life.
During this journey, we captured these poignant moments, unveiling with emotion the tumultuous and often tragic stories of those rediscovered lives.
